MICHAEL CRAWFORD IN A NEW MUSICAL TO PLAY FINAL PERFORMANCE ON BROADWAY SATURDAY, JANUARY 25, 2003 DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, a new musical based on Roman Polanski’s film The Fearless Vampire Killers, with music and lyrics by Jim Steinman, original German book and lyrics by Michael Kunze, and book by David Ives, Jim Steinman and Michael Kunze, will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 25, 2003. Starring Michael Crawford, directed by John Rando and choreographed by John Carrafa, DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES opened Monday, December 9, 2002 at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street), and will have played 61 preview and 56 regular performances. DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES features scenic design by David Gallo, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward and lighting design by Ken Billington. Sound design is by Richard Ryan, with hair design by David H. Lawrence and make-up design by Angelina Avallone. Music supervision and vocal and dance arrangements are by Michael Reed, with orchestrations by Steve Margoshes and musical direction by Patrick Vaccariello.
